Let's learn Maths!
ALAN MARSHALL
MATHS TUTOR
We believe that everyone has the capability to learn Maths. It might take more effort for some students, and perhaps they don't fit into the 'normal' approach of learning in school and studying effectively on their own.
If you would like to find out more about what we do, please get in touch with us.
GET STARTED →HI, I'M
ALAN MARSHALL
IÂ have been tutoring successfully since 2015.
Initially as a 1:1 Tutor I worked with over 200 students and for the past 4 years within my highly successful Group Tutoring Programs I've worked with a further 562 students.
My degree in Mathematics, coupled with my ability to put the most difficult aspects of National 5 and Higher Maths into simple terms, has allowed students to grow in ability and approach their exams with confidence.
We believe there are 4 barriers to students learning Maths:
1. Comprehension (the ability to learn new concepts and processes),
2. Retention (the ability to remember what you've been taught over a period of time),
3. Identification (the ability to be able to recognise a question in a test and exam so that you can 'get to the Maths' and
4. Motivation ( a willingness to learn and put work in).
We have an extraordinary pass rate of 98% (achieving a 'C' or above) with 73% of our students achieving an 'A' grade.

What People Say...
NEW LESSONSÂ EVERY WEEK!
We cover the syllabus for all Secondary School Levels (other than Nat 4 Applications of Maths and Higher Applications of Maths) and also include the Cambridge International GCSEs.
So, whichever level of Maths your son or daughter is studying, we are able to help them.
We also have recordings and worksheets from every part of the syllabus. So, if your son or daughter has a particular problem on one area of the course, you can sign up just for that Module.

Higher Maths
MAINLYÂ STUDIED IN S5Â or S6
As with all mathematics courses, Higher Mathematics aims to build upon and extend candidates' mathematical skills, knowledge and understanding in a way that recognises problem solving as an essential skill and enables them to integrate their knowledge of different aspects of the subject.
Learn all the skills to be able to comprehend, retain and identify the Higher Maths syllabus in time for the exam.

P7/S1/S2 Basics of Maths
For Primary 7, 1st and 2nd Year students
Working with students across secondary school levels gives us an insight into what common issues arise for students beyond P7, 1st and 2nd year. When students fail to learn the basic principles of Maths it creates (what we call) Building Block issues.
So we run short courses for P7, S1 and S2 pupils to ensure they grasp these concepts and are able to take these skills with them into S3 and beyond.
Any student, at any level, is free to sign up for these classes, and it is also possible to sign up for previous modules we've covered.

Cambridge iGCSE Maths
Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics encourages learners to develop their mathematical ability as a key life skill, and as a strong basis for further study of mathematics or to support skills in other subjects.
The syllabus:
- develops learners' competency, confidence, and fluency in their use of techniques with and without the use of a calculator, cultivating mathematical understanding.
- develops learners’ feel for quantity, patterns, and relationships, encouraging learners’ reasoning and analytical skills.
- places a strong emphasis on solving problems in mathematics and real-life contexts.
- promotes appropriate presentation and interpretation of results, encouraging learners’ understanding of how to communicate and reason mathematically.
- is tiered to allow candidates of all abilities to achieve and progress in their mathematical studies.
