Higher Maths Logs & Exponentials
An exponential function is a function in which the variable is the power of the function.
Exponentials are of the form y=ax, where a is the base and x is the exponent.
A logarithmic function is the inverse of an exponential function.
Logarithms are of the form where a is the base and x is the argument of the logarithm.
We can use the log laws to simplify expressions and solve equations. We can sketch and transform graphs of exponential and logarithmic functions and use log straight line graphs to find unknowns.
